Luong serves on multiple boards, including Leadership Long Beach and CSULB’s Ukleja Center for Ethical Leadership, where she was selected as the Leader in Residence in 2023.
Over 10,000 Long Beach locals were nominated for the Absolute Best of Long Beach awards, celebrating exceptional individuals and organizations in our community. We are excited to announce that Nancy has been named a top finalist in the Best Activist and Volunteer category. Nancy has devoted significant time to enhancing the Long Beach community through various initiatives, including leading beach clean-ups, mentoring students at CSU Long Beach, and generously supporting numerous charities. Her dedication and impact truly exemplify the spirit of community service.
As Ms. Southern California 2023, Nancy worked closely with the non-profit Community Action Team (CAT), dedicated to promoting social well-being. The organization produced high-quality events that benefited children, animals, and the environment. In her role, Nancy actively volunteered her time at community events, including beach clean-ups, family gatherings, food and donation drives, and supporting animals in shelters.
Nancy was proud to represent as a female, AAPI, tech professional, and educator, challenging traditional notions of beauty and redefining what a titleholder could be. For her, true beauty was found within, and she believed that outer appearances should not be the primary measure of one’s worth. Her mission was to show other women, young ladies, and the youth that everyone is uniquely beautiful in their own way by embracing their authentic selves. ❤️
